Have you heard of folded chasubles? The feast of the Finding of the Body of St Stephen? The twelve lessons of the Easter Vigil? The Octave of the Corpus Christi? The Vigil of Epiphany?
What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us
too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered
harmful. It behooves all of us to preserve the riches which have developed
in the Church’s faith and prayer, and to give them their proper place.
Letter of Pope Benedict XVI to the Bishops of the World to Present the Motu Proprio
Unbeknownst to most Catholics, the Roman Missal, the Divine Office and the General Roman Calendar underwent significant reforms between 1955 - 1962.
We desire to promote the integrity of the Classical Roman Rite, the Usus Antiquior. We acknowledge and appreciate the work of the many communities who use the 1962 liturgical books. It is our hope that this website will allow for clergy and faithful alike to discover and recover their own unadulterated tradition.
Inform yourself of your patrimony and deepen your understanding and love for sacred tradition.
